What to check before you rent a scooter or power chair:


Damage: Check the scooter / wheelchair for any problems or damage. Report any issues to the vendor or else you could risk your security deposit. (take pictures)

Function and Comfort: If you can, take the power wheelchair or scooter out for a test drive to make sure the batteries are fully charged, drives well, and the seat is comfortable.

Convenience: You may need a scooter or wheelchair that is portable (can be taken apart and placed in vehicle) or foldable.

Exchangeability: Ask the rental company if you can exchange your rental for a scooter or power chair with no additional charge.

Finding a Rental When You Travel:


Air travel: You may be able reserve a scooter or wheelchair in advance. Call guest services, or airline. Escort services may also help you get around (there may be a fee).
