The Time to Shift to Power Chairs

Through EasyMedOnline, people who suffer from limited mobility can finally be set free. Gone are the days when people had to depend on others to help them get around. In fact, with all the latest modern advancements in power wheelchairs and the most up-to-date mobility design, people with movement-limiting handicaps or illnesses can finally begin to regain some independence.

Mobility scooters and power chairs have begun to have a revolutionary effect on previously limited persons who needed some assistance moving around. Through the use of electric controllers, multiple wheel configurations, traction, suspension, range and power options, the electric wheelchair is dramatically different than it used to be. We offer an extensive range of brand-name products such as Pride Mobility, Invacare, Golden Technologies, Sunrise, Pacesaver and many more. These mobility-enhancing scooters and power chairs are the same ones used in many medical institutions and hospitals throughout the country.

Powered mobility assistants like these are increasingly seen as the best method to help recovering patients and other movement-limited people begin to move around. More and more, the government recognizes these Medicare electric wheelchairs as the best option available for movement-limited persons and has consistently approved purchasing assistance for qualified persons.

Mobility Scooters, Who Needs Them and Will Medicare/Private Insurance Reimburse You?

Under Medicare Part B, if you clinically qualify, Medicare will pay for a portion (80% set allowable) of your mobility scooter.

Power Operated Vehicles (POVs), also known as mobility scooters, are recognized and qualify for potential reimbursement under Medicare and other health care insurance companies.

If you require a scooter for enhanced mobility to assist you with your daily activities and you meet your insurance coverage guidelines, all or part of the cost of the scooter may be eligible for coverage. Specific criteria and payment amounts will vary depending on the type of insurance you have. Most health care insurance companies, including Medicare, have minimum requirements that need to be met before a scooter can be purchased for you.

Please note that many people who can walk small distances will not be able to qualify for mobility scooter reimbursement from Medicare or private insurance. Some people who suffer from limited mobility will be able to walk small distances but have problems remaining mobile for longer periods of time. Examples include: shopping, sports events and vacations, to name just a few.

Fortunately, most of the travel scooters today cost between $600 and $900 and are able to carry a person who weighs up to 200 lbs. Many people have found it more convenient to pay for the expense out of pocket.
